The Thule 884 Roll Model Kayak Roof Rack Mount Carrier makes loading and unloading kayaks easy for one to two people. Designed for use with Thule square load bars (sold separately), the 884 Roll Model centers and guides the kayak onto the rack, distributing weight with a smooth, gliding motioning for easier loading. The 884 Roll Model glides the kayak into the saddles, protects the vehicle and the boat from damage during loading and transport, and offers maximum support and cradling for the loaded boat. The carrier holds one kayak with a maximum width of 36 inches and a maximum weight of 75 pounds and comes with two load straps with padded buckles and two ratcheting bow/stern ropes to secure the kayak effectively to the rack.

The 884 Roll Model uses an integrated roller and saddle design to make loading and unloading easier, and to provide better protection for the boat and vehicle. The mount is equipped with a rear-facing roller that extends the saddle loading point, both protecting the vehicle from boat damage during loading and making it easier to get the boat onto the rack. The roller prevents the boat from making contact with the load bar, keeps loading effort to a minimum, and protects the hull from damage.
